Our Practice

The Family Pet Hospital located in Ashland Massachusetts, has been providing state-of-the-art veterinary medical and surgical services as well as integrative services in a friendly, family-oriented environment since it was founded in February 1998. Founder Dr.Cristina Valas was able to realize her dream of being her own town’s small animal veterinarian, caring for the pets in her community as if they were her own.

What we do…

Part of the vision was to create a practice where pets are honored for the important role they play within the family and where she and her staff could contribute to the joy of pet ownership. Clients enjoy the family-oriented atmosphere, where staff take the time to play with the patients as well as get to know their owners personally.

We strive to educate our clients on how to best care for their pets, encouraging their cooperation in their pet's health care. Although the practice has grown considerably, we are proud to provide exceptional medical and surgical services in that very same compassionate, family-oriented atmosphere

As an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited clinic since 1998, our team of veterinarians and support staff adheres to the highest standards of facility and pet care. Only 15% of all practices are AAHA certified (re-accreditation takes place every 3 years). However, our greatest source of pride is found in the praise of our clients and the satisfied purrs and wagging tails of our patients.

On behalf of the American Association for Feline Practitioners, The Family Pet Hospital is certified as a Cat-Friendly Practice.
